Position Overview

Title: Mammography Technologist

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am - 6:30pm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere strictly to physicians' directives and comply with radiation safety regulations to safeguard yourself, patients, and colleagues from unnecessary exposure.
  • Confirm accurate patient identification for imaging studies and ensure proper routing to PACS.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log of patient interactions.
  • Operate imaging equipment to generate high-quality mammographic images.
  • Gather essential patient information from medical records and previous imaging for clinical correlation.
  • Prepare and assist patients for mammographic procedures as directed by a physician.
  • Deliver patient care with dignity and respect for each individual.
  • Educate patients about the imaging procedures being performed.
  • Ensure optimal image quality through appropriate anatomical positioning and adherence to radiologist protocols.
  • Follow safety protocols, including radiation protection and universal precautions.
  • Conduct daily checks and weekly quality assurance to maintain high standards.
  • Document all quality assurance activities accurately.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and report any deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and adapt to changing work assignments.
  • Commit to total quality management and uphold the principles of service excellence in alignment with our organizational mission.
  • Stay informed about advancements in technology and safety practices for yourself, patients, and visitors.
  • Process imaging studies onto CD or film format while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
  • Familiarize yourself with the location of emergency drugs and equipment.
  • Understand departmental booking, scheduling, duplication, and PACS systems.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training and continuing education.
  • Possess a strong understanding of human anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy, along with proper positioning skills and the application of imaging protocols.
  • Exhibit proficiency in a variety of routine procedures and applications.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards set by MQSA and ACR.
  • Maintain the necessary continuing education credits and professional licenses as mandated by relevant authorities.
  • Promote and comply with company policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Execute related duties as assigned or necessary.
  • Be prepared to receive cross-training upon hire to support departmental needs.
Qualifications:
  • Valid New York State License and ARRT Certification with Mammography modality.
  • Commitment to delivering superior diagnostic imaging in accordance with established procedures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and patient care skills.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy, along with proper positioning techniques and protocol utilization.
  • Familiarity with a variety of routine imaging procedures and applications.
  • Ability to maintain continuing education credits and professional licenses as required by the New York State Department of Health and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Compensation: Pay Range $45/hr - $55/hr

This compensation range is based on industry standards, and salary determinations will consider various factors, including years of experience and job location.
