The Opportunity

Position Overview


We are currently seeking a Structural Project Manager to join our team, focusing on Structural Engineering, site evaluations, and construction documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and oversee internal project initiation, milestone, and closure meetings, promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure project schedules are verified and adhered to, both internally and with external partners, to achieve project goals efficiently.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, documenting existing conditions, performing field tests, and creating sketches. Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform design calculations for both new and existing structures and prepare construction documents, including plans, details, and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate field measurements and calculations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Draft written communications with clients and contractors, ensuring clear and professional interactions throughout the project.
  • Interpret investigation reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications, to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Communicate project progress and proactively address any issues or discrepancies that arise, escalating unresolved matters to supervisors as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain records, files, drawings, and other essential project data for easy access and future reference.
  • Gather post-project feedback to identify improvement areas and relay this information to supervisors.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and job knowledge through participation in educational workshops, reviewing professional literature, and engaging with professional networks.
  • Represent the company at events, seminars, and continuing education presentations, actively seeking marketing opportunities to enhance the organization's visibility in the industry.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to contribute to the team's overall success.
Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or relevant experience.

Experience:

A minimum of four years in an architectural and engineering consulting firm or the construction sector.

Licenses and Certifications:

EIT required; PE in the state preferred or the ability to obtain within a year. OSHA-10 Certification preferred but not mandatory. A valid U.S. Driver's License is required due to travel needs.

Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in project documentation.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to attend client meetings and events as required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
  • Familiarity with drafting software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Revit) is advantageous for relevant positions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills while adhering to project budgets.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Safe operation of ladders, scaffolds, and other access equipment.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking, possibly on uneven terrain.
