This role is centered around structural engineering, presenting a range of engaging and complex challenges that will significantly enhance your professional journey. You will work alongside a team of structural engineers, collaborate with professionals from various engineering disciplines, and mentor junior project team members. Your focus will be on engineering initiatives for new nuclear facilities, as well as upgrades and modifications to existing nuclear power plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize your expertise in materials, structural analysis, and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete.
- Contribute as a vital member of an engineering and design team, engaging in diverse projects for multiple clients. Your tasks will include preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and assisting designers in creating drawings.
- Employ advanced computer tools to conduct structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete components, and foundations.
- There may be opportunities for travel to client and vendor locations for design assessments and to construction sites for coordination and verification of designs.
Please note that we do not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a project team setting, specializing in the design and analysis of structures, including AISC steel and ACI concrete designs.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
- Familiarity with design codes and standards, including ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in the design and analysis of power plant or industrial structures.
- Hands-on construction support experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
