Job Summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care
    • Examine patients, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physician
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and lab results
    • Prescribe medications and treatments as needed
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams
    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
    • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to the development of patient care plans
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
    • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness
  • Maintain Accurate Records
    • Document patient care and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Experience
    • Three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • PA - Physician Assistant - State Licensure by the Texas Board of Physician Assistants
    • AP - Prescriptive Authority - Texas Board of Nursing
    • DEA - Narcotics License (DEA) within 6 months
    • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership and Communication Skills
    • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and patients
  • Clinical Expertise
    • Advanced knowledge and skills in clinical practice, including diagnosis, treatment, and patient education
