School Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Librarian to join our team at Beaufort County School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive and stimulating environment for students to promote a culture of learning.

• Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive school library media program that aligns with the district's educational goals and objectives.
• Collection Management: Select, evaluate, and maintain a diverse collection of resources that support the curriculum and meet the needs of students and staff.
• Instruction and Outreach: Provide instruction and support to students and staff on the effective use of information resources and technologies.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of reading and lifelong learning.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the school library media program and make recommendations for improvement.

• Education: Must have a valid South Carolina teaching certificate or be able to obtain one within 60 days of being hired.
• Experience: Must have completed a program of study in education from an accredited college or university.

The School Librarian will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. The position requires the ability to lift items needed to perform the functions of the job.
