About the Role

Trinity Solar is seeking a highly skilled Solar Design Engineer to join our team. As a Solar Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing photovoltaic power generation systems and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of designers to create accurate and efficient designs for solar energy systems.
  • Produce, review, and edit full plan sets to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Analyze and collate data to determine the best design for each project.
  • Validate existing and new equipment to support PV and ESS systems.
  • Draw and manipulate 3D models of buildings to display the location of photovoltaic module arrays and related equipment.
  • Assemble electrical 3-line schematics to detail exact points of connection, equipment, conductors, conduits, and overcurrent protection.
  • Draft elevation views of existing buildings and create superimposed renderings of equipment views.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in either PV system installation or design, or electrical systems installation or design.
  • AutoCAD drafting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other Autodesk platforms such as Revit, or SketchUp.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and building code requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
  • Experience with residential electrical service equipment.
  • Basic AC/DC electrical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to establish priorities and adapt quickly to changes.
