Key Responsibilities of a Food Runner

  • Deliver attentive, courteous, and prompt service to ensure a delightful dining experience for patrons.
  • Efficiently transport food and beverages ordered by guests, ensuring timely delivery and presentation according to designated table assignments.
  • Verify each order for any specific requests or dietary restrictions prior to serving.
  • Clear and clean tables as needed to maintain a tidy dining area.
  • Monitor tables and refill water glasses and other beverages as required.
  • Reset tables and manage the transportation of used dishes to the dishwashing area.
  • Assist in arranging tables and seating for guests when necessary.
  • Maintain awareness of the service flow within the dining space.
  • Conduct regular cleaning of the workstation in accordance with established protocols, including pre-shift and post-shift duties.
  • Support the serving staff with additional tasks as needed.
  • Under the direction of management, assist in training new food runners.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage.
  • Ability to perform food runner and busser tasks effectively.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with guests, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to reach, stoop, or bend as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • This position may require visual and auditory skills to perform job functions effectively.
