Orthodontic Assistant

The Orthodontic Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences. This position involves assisting the doctor during appointments, sterilization procedures, setting up the operatories, taking impressions and x-rays, and occasional minor lab work.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating.
- Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
- Provide patient instruction/education.
- Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
- Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
- Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
- Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
- Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
- Unload and store new supplies.

What You Bring- Orthodontic Assistant is preferred, or Registered Dental Assistant.
- Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and the community.
- Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills.
