Overview:

The Pipeline Project Engineer will be an integral part of the Project Execution Team, focusing on major natural gas pipeline integrity, retrofits, replacements, and hydrotest transmission projects, as well as planning distribution tasks.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide essential project support for various responsibilities.
  • Comprehend project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Assist in the early development of technical scopes.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on all project-related tasks.
  • Conduct record research and gather information at various client locations.
  • Deliver engineering outputs in accordance with company standards.
  • Lead and coordinate project design efforts.
  • Manage activities related to technical advancements, scheduling, and troubleshooting engineering design issues.
  • Review design drawings for feasibility, design integrity, and precision at multiple design stages.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to determine specialized design options.
  • Oversee drawings created by other team members.
  • Facilitate the integration of technical activities and deliverables.
  • Support client meetings with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure timely execution.
  • Guarantee that all work is conducted safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the project team to address potential risks.
  • Assess and authorize design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Evaluate alternative assessment methods and external support needs.
  • Apply engineering principles to analyze and resolve challenges.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the gas industry is essential.
  • Experience in planning distribution work is required.
  • A minimum of a BS Degree in an accredited Engineering program or relevant field experience.
  • 2-8 years of engineering experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design and visualization software, such as AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Ability to interpret documents, including safety regulations and operational manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and confidence in decision-making.
  • Capability to produce routine reports and correspondence.
  • A coachable engineer, eager to learn and self-motivated.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 and 195.
  • Familiarity with ASME/ANSI B314 and B31.8 codes and regulations.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.
  • PE License is advantageous.
  • Understanding of SAP and Citrix systems.
  • Knowledge of Cathodic Protection.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Field experience in pipelines, cathodic protection, construction, or related areas is necessary.
