We are in search of a dedicated RN who possesses exceptional attention to detail and strong clinical judgment to enhance our Neurosurgery outpatient practice.

Under the guidance of the practice physician and/or advanced practice provider (APP), along with the oversight of the Nurse Manager (RN) and/or Nurse Supervisor (RN), the RN will deliver direct patient care, conduct patient triage (both in-person and via telephone), and engage in the assessment, planning, directing, and evaluation of individualized patient care plans and clinic visits.

The RN will be responsible for obtaining and documenting comprehensive patient histories (Medical, Surgical, and Social) and performing focused physical assessments relevant to the clinic visit as per established protocols.
The role includes administering medications and treatments to patients in the clinic, under the supervision of a physician or APP.
Participation in in-office procedures related to the clinic's specialty is expected, with documentation of results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
The RN will facilitate resource utilization to achieve patient outcomes and contribute to Facility (AMC), New York State, and National Quality data metrics.
Compliance with AMC's regulatory agency (The Joint Commission) and internal policies is mandatory.
Responsibilities also include the orientation and education of newly hired staff and completing ongoing education related to the clinic specialty to stay current with best practices.
The RN will provide educational support to patients regarding their visits and overall health and wellness.

An Associate's degree from a state-accredited Registered Nursing program is required. Albany Medical Center is an equal opportunity employer.
