Opportunity for Forensic Psychiatrist in an Inpatient Setting
Position Overview:
Join a reputable 218-bed licensed Acute Psychiatric Program inpatient facility, complemented by a 114-bed Intermediate Treatment Program. This role involves delivering comprehensive mental health assessments and treatments to individuals referred from correctional facilities across the state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quality psychiatric care for a diverse patient population, with an average daily caseload of 15 patients in Acute and 35 in Intermediate settings.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of mental health professionals, including Nurse Practitioners and specialists, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Conduct evaluations and treatment plans for patients with complex psychiatric and medical conditions, maintaining a focus on psychopharmacology and Axis 2 disorders.
- Manage patient interactions with an expectation of seeing patients twice weekly in acute units and once weekly in intermediate units.
- Participate in a structured schedule of 40 hours per week, working four ten-hour shifts, with on-call duties limited to shift hours only.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in acute inpatient psychiatry is essential.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is required.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with varying patient loads and treatment needs.

- Credentialing typically takes 2-4 weeks.
- A minimum commitment of six months is preferred.
