We are seeking a skilled Railcar Mechanic to join our team at Rescar Companies. As a Railcar Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railcar equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in railcar equipment, including truck assembly, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, and draft systems
- Perform repairs and replacements of defective or worn components
- Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Clean and maintain units and components
- Ensure proper operation and safety of railcar equipment
- Good work ethic and attention to detail
- Experience with hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Previous mechanic experience desired
- Familiarity with welding a plus
- Updated background check and drug test
- Competitive base wages
