Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at University Hospitals. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol hospital campuses to deter and detect criminal activity
- Respond to calls for service and investigate crimes
- Document allegations of crime, protect persons and property, and advise on preventative practices
- Perform preliminary and continued investigations, search for and collect physical evidence, and interview witnesses and victims
- Enforce criminal laws by arrest or non-arrest dispositions, testify in court, and answer emergency and non-emergency calls for service
- Deter and detect crime utilizing efficient patrol techniques, investigate crimes by obtaining witness statements, collecting evidence, and processing crime scenes
- Write reports on alleged criminal incidents, follow up investigations, arrests, juvenile records, and prepare criminal charges
- Handle prisoners, including booking and transporting, and respond to special attention requests
- Maintain a condition of readiness to efficiently and effectively respond to critical incidents, promote police community relations through interaction with patients and visitors, and work together with hospital departments to ensure a safe working environment
- Dispatch duties when assigned and complete essential work functions without direct supervision
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current and valid OPOTA certification upon hiring date
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to work variable shifts, including second and third shifts
Sign on Bonus: $2000 for external talent, paid out half at 90 days and half at 1 year.
