As a Metal Finisher at Allied Maker, you will play a vital role in bringing our designs to life. This is not just a job but a continuation of a heritage craft, using skill and precision to create flawless finishes on metal components for our lighting fixtures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform sanding, polishing, buffing, and patination of metal parts to ensure the highest quality finishes.
- Inspect metal surfaces for imperfections and correct them with an artisan's eye for detail.
- Operate hand tools and machinery, respecting the time-honored methods of metalwork while also incorporating modern innovations.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure products meet both time and quality benchmarks.
- Uphold safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace, honoring the discipline that metalwork requires.
- Follow detailed technical specifications and design guidelines to meet the highest standards of craftsmanship.
- Ensure continuous quality control throughout the finishing process, embracing the legacy of meticulous, skillful tradesmanship.
- Proven experience in metal finishing, with a respect for both modern and traditional methods of metalworking.
- Strong knowledge of various metal types and finishing techniques such as buffing, polishing, and patination.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and metal finishing equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining consistency in finishes.
- Ability to work independently while embracing teamwork as part of a larger craftsman's guild.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to honor production deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Strong commitment to maintaining safety standards.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, essential for precise, detailed work.
