Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

Role Summary: Execute advanced assessments, monitor hemodynamics, manage ventilator care, and administer advanced medications for critically ill or injured patients. Responsible for the operation and upkeep of emergency vehicles.

Qualifications Required:
  • Education: EMS Certificate from a Community College or an Associate of Science in EMS. Ongoing education or re-certification as mandated by NC OEMS is required.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in EMS.
  • Licenses: Must possess UMBC CCEMT-P certification, North Carolina Paramedic certification, and a valid North Carolina driver's license. Must meet insurance criteria and hold BCLS, ITLS or PHTLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of full-time active paramedic experience in primary EMS or Critical Care transport services.
  • Preferred Experience: Three to five years of relevant experience.
