As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic radiographic examinations, operating complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, and ensuring that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, including routine and specialized procedures, to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Operate complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, ensuring proper function and maintenance.
- Prepare for and assist physicians in radiological diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
- Explain procedures, medications, and contrast media to patients, alleviating fear and anxiety.
- Mentor and educate students and new technologists, fostering a constructive environment that promotes confidence and skill development.
- Perform general clerical tasks, including answering phones, updating patient appointments, and retrieving and entering patient electronic health records.
- Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient procedures and exam charges.
- Inventory and order accessories and supplies to maintain established stock levels.
- Implement protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to self, staff, and patients.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure.
- Inspect and calibrate equipment, recording quality control results and reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
- ARRT-American Register of Radiologic Technologist certification and evidence of application for CRT (may not begin work until the CRT is verified online).
- OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (from state where work is being performed).
- ARRT-American Register of Radiologic Technologist.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire.
- RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 Days of hire if required at the affiliate.
- 2 years recent relevant experience.
- General knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
- Ability to perform routine radiographic examinations and basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing assignments and working within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods.
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing assignments and working within standardized policies and procedures. The ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options is essential. The successful candidate will also ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information and build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
