Gynecologic Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team in Gynecologic Surgical Oncology at AdventHealth Orlando. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our surgical oncology program.
Responsibilities- Perform history and physical examinations of patients, evaluate and treat gynecologic surgical oncology patients in the inpatient setting at our Orlando campus.
- Conduct inpatient procedures, including PAPs and endometrial biopsies.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory and X-ray.
- Monitor patient treatment and make referrals to physicians or specialists as needed.
- Exhibit autonomy in the operating room and hospital when required.
- Perform first assistant duties in the operating room.
- Write postoperative orders in the recovery room and perform postoperative procedures.
- Return phone calls to patients.
- Collaborate with physician supervisor and staff to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff, including hospital rounds and inpatient consults.
- See patients in the outpatient setting as needed.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
- Master's degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Studies.
- 1st assist experience (preferred).
- Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license.
- NCCPA (or equivalent) certification.
- BLS, ACLS Certification.
