We are seeking a talented Architectural Model Fabrication Specialist to contribute to our projects at ZGF Architects LLP.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of our designs, requiring innovative thinking, expertise in three-dimensional design, and the capability to understand architectural plans and sketches.
As an Architectural Model Fabrication Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating scale architectural models utilizing a variety of materials and construction techniques
- Effectively managing multiple projects under tight timelines
- Utilizing standard office software for clear communication
- Overseeing shop organization and ensuring proper equipment availability
- Providing training and support to design personnel in model fabrication
- Maintaining relationships with vendors and overseeing production processes and budgets
- Offering fabrication solutions that extend beyond mere scale models
- Investigating new materials and innovative fabrication techniques
- Collaborating with the broader model-making team
Qualifications:
- Comfort and familiarity with woodworking tools and safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, projects, and resources in a dynamic environment
- Manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail in fabricating components
- Understanding of both digital fabrication tools and traditional equipment
- A minimum of an associate degree in architecture or a related discipline
- A preferred bachelor's degree
- At least two years of experience with Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, and CNC technology
- Proficiency in Rhino, along with knowledge of other 3D software such as Revit and SketchUp
Base Salary Range:
$70,000/yr - $95,000/yr
