Position Overview

The Controls Engineer at Zobility will be responsible for the design, implementation, and commissioning of advanced industrial control systems. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and deploying industrial control systems, including PLC software and HMI interfaces tailored for diverse applications.
  • Overseeing the development of PLC/HMI code, ensuring proper installation, troubleshooting on-site, and full system commissioning.
  • Programming peripheral devices and coordinating machine debugging, power-up, and validation processes in collaboration with build and electrical teams.
  • Ensuring that all systems are developed in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Traveling to client locations for system installation and initial operation.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Controls Engineering, specifically in PLC and HMI programming.
  • Proficiency in Rockwell Allen Bradley (Controllogix, RSLogix, Studio 5000) or Siemens Step 7 (TIA Portal, WinCC) PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with other PLC platforms such as Omron, Mitsubishi, and others is advantageous.
  • Experience in hardware design utilizing tools like AutoCAD, Promise-E, or ePlan is preferred.
  • Ability to develop code and ladder logic from the ground up.
  • Prior experience in automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning is beneficial.
  • Experience in programming within customer-defined standards and templates.
  • Knowledge of various field bus networks, including DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, and ProfiNet, is a plus.
Educational Background:
  • A degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
