The Chief Financial Auditor plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive audit reports that assess financial, technical, and environmental aspects of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an organized database of operational audit proposals and contracts related to hydrocarbon and mineral sectors.
  • Draft and issue operational audit proposals and contracts in response to client requests.
  • Engage with potential clients to present audit service proposals as part of the executive team.
  • Prepare initial and draft reports for management review, encompassing financial, technical, and environmental audits.
  • Travel to international locations for meetings and to present audit findings to government representatives.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of operator companies under contract.
  • Familiarize with the terms of Production Sharing Contracts (PSAs) and other agreements.
  • Coordinate the creation of document requests for operators.
  • Conduct research and analysis of financial statements, tax documents, and other relevant audit materials.
  • Support the Managing Director in planning and executing financial audits.
  • Evaluate operator compliance with established government policies.
  • Assist in negotiations for financial recoveries based on audit outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in upstream oil and mining operations.
  • Strong background in accounting related to oil, gas, and mineral sectors.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong multitasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in analyzing financial data and generating actionable insights.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant technical experience.
  • At least 10 years in progressively responsible management roles.
  • CPA certification is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Frequent viewing of computer screens is required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel internationally, with overnight stays expected 25-50% of the time.
