Overall Purpose: The CNC Machinist (Mill/Turn Specialist) is integral to our operations, responsible for programming, setting up, and operating advanced computer numerical control (CNC) Mill/Turn machinery. This role encompasses maintaining safety and quality standards, documenting processes, and ensuring the upkeep of equipment to support Masterbilt's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze machining tasks by reviewing work orders, blueprints, and specifications, while interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Program CNC equipment by inputting instructions, configuring tool registers, and validating part programs.
- Prepare machines by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, and attachments as necessary.
- Design and develop fixturing and tooling solutions for effective work holding.
- Uphold specifications by monitoring operations, taking measurements, troubleshooting processes, and adhering to quality assurance protocols.
- Ensure safe operations by complying with safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and address malfunctions as they arise.
- Document activities by completing production and quality logs, while staying informed about industry advancements through ongoing education.

Position Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in manufacturing and CNC machining is essential.
- Functional Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating CNC Lathe machines.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to create work instructions and train others.
- Collaboration Skills: Effective teamwork abilities, openness to new ideas, a positive attitude, and adaptability.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, operate machinery, and lift weights up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing settings.
Environmental Conditions & Travel:
- Exposure to moderate noise levels in manufacturing environments.
- Occasional requirement for appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Minimal travel, less than 5%.
