Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and operate chamber control systems, including hand valves and compressors, while troubleshooting and repairing support equipment.
  • Monitor patients during hyperbaric procedures, utilizing vital sign devices and respiratory equipment.
  • Prepare and educate patients on hyperbaric procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment and modify decompression calculations as necessary.
  • Assist with wound care tasks and perform non-invasive vascular testing as directed by a physician.
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care principles across various age groups, assessing and addressing individual needs.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) certification from the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hyperbaric technician role preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possession of a qualifying pathway credential for obtaining CHT.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of hyperbaric procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring patients safely.

Working Conditions:

  • Potential exposure to various hazards, including mechanical and chemical.
  • Ability to work in a warm, enclosed environment.
