Role Summary:

The Elevator Field Service Technician is responsible for executing maintenance, inspections, repairs, refurbishments, and installations efficiently and profitably, while upholding high standards of workmanship and safety.

This role involves close collaboration with fellow service technicians and direct reporting to a Service/Installation Supervisor.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations on various models of Alimak and other elevator systems.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical troubleshooting.
  • Document service activities, labor, and expenses using computerized systems.
  • Engage with customers and vendors as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Able to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and travel extensively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Possession of a valid US Driver's License.
  • Must meet insurance policy requirements, including age criteria.
  • Ability to obtain a valid TSA TWIC Card prior to employment.
  • Must be eligible for a US Passport.
  • Pass relevant background checks, motor vehicle reports, physical exams, and drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Capability to work at significant heights.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a related field is highly desirable.
  • Licensure as an Elevator Mechanic is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to work at extreme heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical endurance to sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, bend, squat, kneel, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Ability to drive for long durations.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment.
