Role Summary:
The Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for executing both standard and specialized evaluations of various materials, including in-process substances, raw inputs, environmental samples, final products, and stability assessments using appropriate biochemical techniques as directed by management. The role includes essential quality control duties as required. Adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is crucial during all operational tasks. The candidate should be capable of working autonomously with moderate oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute quality control tasks as assigned by management, which may include:
- Conducting both routine and specialized analyses of test samples utilizing biochemical methods such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC, CE-SDS, ELISA, and Cell-Based Bioassays.
- Exhibit initiative in performing quality control responsibilities, including sample management, laboratory equipment upkeep, documentation management, and inventory oversight.
- Monitor laboratory instruments for compliance with temperature and operational specifications.
- Implement cGMP practices throughout all work activities.
- Work independently with limited supervision while demonstrating strong collaborative skills.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding progress and seek guidance when necessary.
- Utilize scientific knowledge to assist in troubleshooting, laboratory investigations, and resolving issues. Propose enhancements to quality control processes.
- Review assay data for accuracy and completeness.
- Undertake independent projects such as compiling data, preparing graphical representations for documentation, and drafting reports. Conduct document evaluations, author standard operating procedures (SOPs), and lead special initiatives like method validation and optimization.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree requires 3-5 years of relevant experience, while a Master’s degree necessitates 1-3 years of related experience.
- A solid understanding of cGMP regulations is essential.
- Ability to operate independently with moderate supervision.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail and proficient computer skills.
Educational Background:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biology or Biochemistry, is required.
