As a Community Support Generalist at Vail Communities, you will collaborate in a uniquely supportive and cooperative environment alongside adults experiencing mental health challenges. Our community-centered recovery approach utilizes everyday activities to connect staff with members, facilitate interactions among members, and highlight everyone's strengths and talents.

In this role, you will play a vital part in organizing and coordinating work tasks, assisting in goal setting, and providing job development training and support at transitional employment sites. You will exemplify encouragement, appreciation, and a focus on individual abilities, all aimed at helping members recognize their value as integral participants within the Clubhouse community.

What will you do?

The responsibilities of the Community Support Generalist include planning and coordinating work tasks with both small and large groups, assisting Clubhouse members in developing health and wellness, vocational, educational, and housing goals and objectives, among other duties. The Community Support Generalist engages with Clubhouse members as colleagues in meaningful work, encouraging and supporting individuals who may not yet recognize their potential. Community Support Generalists lead by example, demonstrating encouragement, appreciation, and a focus on individual strengths while accommodating the unique needs of each person served. This role may involve some specialization, such as health and wellness, vocational/transitional employment, data management, and social recreation, as the community's needs evolve.

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS in human services or a related field, or BSW with valid and current Social Work licensure, or Community Health Worker (CHW) certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in mental health or human services.
  • A valid Minnesota Driver's License, automobile coverage, and access to a vehicle are required.
