The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care in our respiratory department. As a key member of the patient care team, you will perform diagnostic tests, administer respiratory therapies, and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities- Conduct patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Administer oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy as prescribed.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient response to therapy and notify providers as necessary.
- Transport ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification within 30 days of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure.
- Bachelor's degree, vocational school graduate, or associate degree in respiratory therapy.
