Job Summary

The University of California San Francisco is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team in the Ambulatory Outpatient Oncology department. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized nursing care to patients, taking into account their physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and maintain a high standard of patient care.
  • Contribute to daily clinical operations, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in patient education and outreach initiatives to optimize clinic flow and patient satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to create a patient-centered environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year of recent LVN experience in an ambulatory outpatient clinic setting.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Working experience with clinical procedures, including IM injections, post-op wound care, and sterile procedures.
  • Knowledge of genomic testing and pathology processing, including authorization processes.
  • Experience with COVID protocols and coordination of care workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Experience working in an academic health system.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an oncology setting.
  • Phlebotomy License.
