Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Chico Heights Rehabilitation & Wellness Center. As an OTA, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support activities that promote outstanding outcomes in our therapy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care under the direction of a registered occupational therapist, ensuring that treatment plans are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Complete documentation according to established procedures, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Assist with maintenance of patient charges and administrative support, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Contribute to professional development of self and others, staying up-to-date with the latest treatment techniques and best practices in occupational therapy.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices, identifying and correcting safety hazards and maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited OTA program.
  • Experience in geriatric rehabilitation preferred, with experience in adult neurological, cardiac, and general rehabilitation also desirable.
  • Ability to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces a minimum of 10 times per day, with the ability to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.
  • Proficient in CPR and able to perform CPR if required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Working Conditions

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will spend approximately 60-80% of their time bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching while working with occupational therapy patients, and approximately 10-20% of their time sitting at a desk or terminal entering data.

License/Certification/Registration
  • Current Certification Process/State Licensure as required.
  • Current CPR certification.
