Job Title: Healthcare Specialist

At Stericycle, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant handling and processing of all waste streams contracted by our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor operational efficiencies and assist in ensuring that performance and cost goals are achieved through the use of cost tracking tools and invoice reviews.
  • Identify and execute ways to reduce costs while fulfilling contractual obligations.
  • Provide strategic consultative resources to hospital staff to assist them in managing all contracted waste streams in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Serve as the primary liaison in managing all contracted waste streams.
  • Provide expert knowledge on regulations associated with waste streams, including EPA, DOT, DEA, and state or local regulations.
  • Conduct surveys to identify compliance gaps and waste segregation opportunities using the Virtual Compliance Partner application.
  • Project manage the implementation of new compliance-based services, including tracking, coordinating, and communicating schedules and expectations to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and deliver customized training for the implementation and maintenance of contracts.
  • Regularly schedule and complete customer-facing activities to focus on service satisfaction, building relationships, and identifying ways to improve operational efficiencies and profitability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, with experience in healthcare discipline preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating excellent working knowledge of medical waste issues and consultative skills to effectively deal with customers.
  • Ability to work well with others, provide excellent customer service, and identify and understand customer needs.
  • Ability to present ideas/information in a clear, concise, organized, and diplomatic manner.
