Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and advancing the field of orthopedics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and review patient medical histories, perform physical examinations, and analyze laboratory or radiologic studies to assess patients' medical, physical, and psychological status.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans aligned with the practice preferences of collaborating physicians.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on treatment plans, disease prevention, and health promotion.
  • Document patient care activities and examination data in medical records.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Nursing (for APNs) or Bachelors Degree (for PAs) from an accredited program.
  • Graduation from a program approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing (for APNs) or the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (for PAs).
  • License, Certification, Registration: Physician Assistant License (Colorado) or Pathologist's Assistant Certificate from National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants (for PAs) or Advanced Practice Nurse Registration (Colorado) or Nurse Practitioner-Family Certification or Nurse Practitioner National Certificate or Nurse Practitioner-Pediatrics Certification or Registered Nurse License (Colorado) (for APNs).
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ortho experience preferred or specific certified subspecialized training in Orthopedics preferred.
