The Riverside University Health System is enhancing its service offerings and accessibility to healthcare across Riverside County. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform medical assessments for patients; diagnose health conditions; identify and provide resources for social determinants of health; order diagnostic tests; prescribe and administer treatments and medications.

• Oversee and mentor residents, interns, and medical students in designated areas.

• Serve as a resource for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants within the team.

• Exhibit professionalism in all interactions, including interpersonal skills, while adhering to RUHS policies and organizational goals.

• Maintain accurate documentation of care to support coding, in compliance with standards set by the Joint Commission, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and state and federal regulations.

• Collaborate with other agencies on issues related to public health program operations.

• Act as the primary consultant for staff regarding medical aspects of public health initiatives; ensure public health programs meet state policies and regulations.

• Instruct nursing and medical staff in patient care and treatment; assess the need for referrals and direct patients to appropriate resources.

• Engage in clinical quality programs, taking responsibility for personal quality metrics and compliance with RUHS policies and state and federal requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Successful completion of a residency training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Board Certification in the relevant medical specialty (required by time of hire).

License/Certificate: Valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate issued by the State of California without restrictions. Current Drug Enforcement Agency registration may be required.

Knowledge: Understanding of modern medical principles and practices; current techniques, procedures, and equipment relevant to primary care or specialized medical fields; effective supervision principles.

Ability: Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate specialized medical services; perform specialized medical services; supervise and instruct professional and technical staff; develop and deliver educational programs for medical students, interns, resident physicians, and ancillary medical personnel; maintain records and prepare comprehensive reports; collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
