We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Inventory Control Specialist. This role will be responsible for overseeing the Physical Inventory and Inventory Control processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our inventory management.
Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate and improve the overall Physical Inventory and Inventory Control strategy in collaboration with the Finance department leadership team.
- Direct and prioritize the work of Inventory Control and Physical Inventory representatives, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Lead the Inventory Control and Physical Inventory team in shrink and inventory movement analysis and investigation at the store level.
- Act as the secondary point of contact for inventory-related issues from both Physical Inventory and Inventory Control associates.
- Hold accountability for assigned metrics and assess team success through evaluation, employee development, and performance improvement.
- Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and prioritization to Physical Inventory and Inventory Control associates.
- Conduct inventory analysis and support analytics, stores, DSMs, and RLPMs through effective research and communication.
- Collaborate with the buying team to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Effectively resolve store inventory issues using various tools and problem-solving techniques.
- Assist with ICG queue and PI reconciliations/scheduling as needed.
- Research and resolve outstanding issues identified by analytics, Inventory Control, Physical Inventory, or field teams.
- Initiate Inventory Control reporting to Store Ops, Merchandising, DC, and Loss Prevention.
- Develop and refine improved inventory procedures, policies, and techniques concerning inventory control and physical inventory.
- Act as a subject matter expert on all inventory control and physical inventory tasks and applications.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred, along with 5-7 years of experience in inventory management in a retail environment. At least 2-4 years of experience in a direct report management/leadership capacity is required. Experience with inventory control-related systems and processes is preferred.
Technical Skills
Basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.

- Average work week is 40-45 hours, which can vary depending on business need.
- The work environment for this position is a moderately noisy office setting.
