Position Overview
Instructors at MCC are dedicated higher-education professionals who advocate for student achievement. They motivate and engage learners by employing innovative educational methodologies. They evaluate student performance to ensure academic success while remaining informed about developments in their field. Our educators collaborate as subject matter experts within the College, contributing to strategic objectives through active involvement in college committees and by promoting the institution to prospective students in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver the designated course in alignment with learning goals and syllabus using effective teaching strategies to engage students.
- Create and oversee course materials, syllabus, and assignments.
- Provide constructive feedback and assess student performance throughout the course, including availability for student consultations as needed.
- Maintain and submit course syllabus, grades, attendance records, and other required documentation.
- Utilize educational technology, such as course management systems.
- Evaluate student learning and submit necessary assessment reports.
- Stay current in the professional field.
- Collaborate effectively within the department, division, and across the College to promote educational excellence.
- Minimum qualifications for the course are determined annually by the Board of Trustees and are accessible in all Academic Division Offices: Master's degree in the discipline or a Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.
- Preferred teaching experience.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college and to inspiring and motivating community college students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
