Painter (2nd Shift) - Industrial Coating Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Painter (2nd Shift) to join our team at Volvo Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our products.
Key Responsibilities- Perform surface preparation and painting operations to meet VCE paint quality standards and engineering requirements.
- Operate Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's) on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) to direct material through paint systems and adjust process operations.
- Use and follow prescribed safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Employ rigging principles to safely move, manipulate, and hang heavy and awkward parts for cleaning and painting.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance tasks to ensure trouble-free blast machine operation.
- Apply seam sealer to prevent water leaks and rust bleed, and sand and grind to repair cosmetic defects.
- Set up paint for spraying, including moving drums as needed, adding reducer as required, and stirring properly.
- Operate electronic paint proportioning equipment and properly mix paint with hardener by hand for repairs and special colors.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 24 months experience in industrial or automotive painting in a production environment, preferably using high solids coating.
- Possess a thorough understanding of metal preparation and the safe handling and use of hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to apply paint evenly and completely in a timely fashion with a minimum of defects.
- Knowledge of rigging to safely move and manipulate awkward and heavy parts.
