Job Overview

Fremont Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to serve as a Special Education Health Paraeducator. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting students with special needs by providing individualized attention, accommodations, and assistance with daily living tasks. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with daily living tasks, including feeding, toileting, and transferring.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Supervise students on school grounds and during extracurricular activities.
  • Provide medical care and administer medication under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, and certification as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), certified medical assistant (CMA), or licensed practical nurse (LPN). A current First Aid/CPR certificate is also desirable. Experience working with children, preferably in a medical or educational setting, is essential. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as patience and empathy when working with students who require additional support.
