Position Overview
The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in the healthcare team by preparing and dispensing prescribed medications to patients in an outpatient setting. This position involves educating patients about their medications, supervising pharmacy technicians, and working under the guidance of a pharmacist manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interprets physician orders to ensure accurate patient care.
- Oversees prescription order entry, packaging, and dispensing processes.
- Provides drug utilization reviews and medication-related information to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Evaluates pharmacy technicians' performance against departmental goals.
- Delivers additional clinical services to enhance patient care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or BSPharm required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a pharmacy setting.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be a Registered Pharmacist in NC and hold BLS (CPR) certification from an accredited provider.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily onsite and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Schedule:
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with some Saturday rotations as needed.
