Commodity Buyer/Sr. Buyer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Commodity Buyer to join their innovative manufacturing team in the Cleveland, OH area. Our client is dedicated to excellence in their operations and requires a strategic thinker to maintain their competitive edge through procurement decisions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials and supplies needed for production. This role requires a strong background in sourcing, negotiating, and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and service.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms.
  • Oversee the procurement process from purchase order creation to delivery of goods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast needs and manage inventory levels.
  • Conduct market analysis to stay informed of industry trends and leverage insights for procurement decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards in all purchasing activities.
  • Manage a significant annual spend and contribute to the company's long-term supply chain success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commodity buying, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

Compensation: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
