Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily activities, utilizing restorative nursing principles to promote their highest level of functioning.
  • Report any changes in resident condition to the supervisor on duty.
  • Conduct resident rounds as assigned.
  • Document resident progress according to corporate guidelines.
  • Complete admission and discharge procedures.
  • Foster a sense of self-respect and worth in each resident through kindness, understanding, and patience.
  • Participate in resident care planning as assigned.
  • Use proper equipment and techniques to ensure resident and staff safety.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, following community policies and procedures.
  • Ensure residents have access to call lights and respond promptly to their needs.
  • Assist with meals, nourishment, hydration, and transportation.
  • Provide quality customer service to residents, families, and staff.
  • Work cooperatively with residents, staff, volunteers, and families to ensure high-quality care.
  • Be dependable and punctual, adhering to scheduled work hours.
  • Follow proper care and use of equipment, as well as waste disposal procedures.
  • Participate in in-services and activities as required.
  • Follow written and oral directions from the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Complete and pass training and competency exams as approved by the State Board of Health.
  • Hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Be able to read and comprehend written resident care instructions and chart resident conditions.
  • Follow written and oral directions.
  • Work independently.
  • Have computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrate dependability, cooperation, and interest in caring for the elderly.
  • Communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors.
