Job Title: Medication Technician

At Davenport Management Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents.

Job Summary

The Medication Technician will be responsible for accurately preparing, administering, and documenting medications according to physician's orders and established policies and procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare and administer medications to residents, ensuring compliance with physician's orders and facility policies.
  • Monitor medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken, including tracking and reporting any discrepancies or issues.
  • Follow established guidelines for labeling and storing medications, ensuring accurate identification and safe handling.
  • Assist with medication charting and documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff, responding to questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care and services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in medication administration preferred.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions

The Medication Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with residents, families, and staff on a regular basis. The role requires standing, walking, and lifting, with occasional exposure to body fluids and other biohazards. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
