About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Safety Officer to join our team at Inova Health System. As a key member of our clinical services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of our MRI department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement MRI-safe practices across the system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide clinical services according to MRI practice standards, including the administration of IV contrast and the performance of MRI examinations.
  • Act as a resource to MRI students and other technologists, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal department functions.
  • Monitor and report on quality programs, ensuring that our MRI services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Develop and maintain safe working procedures for the MRI environment, working closely with the MRMD/MRRD to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiography or MRI training program.
  • ARRT certification in MRI, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a MRI technologist in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to obtain MRSO course certification within one year of hire.
