SUMMARY
As a Speech and Language Therapist with Iroquois County Community Unit School District 9, you will be responsible for providing effective speech and language therapy techniques to students with communication disorders. Your expertise in literacy practices and assessments, as well as your ability to coordinate and manage speech services, will be essential in creating a supportive learning environment. Additionally, you will work with adults, utilizing coaching and mentoring techniques to enhance their communication skills.

DUTIES

Develop and implement a course of remediation for disordered speech and language skills, utilizing knowledge of typical and disordered speech and language development. Prepare daily lesson plans and course outlines, ensuring a structured approach to therapy. Schedule IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation, while consulting with colleagues on assignment and workload responsibilities. Establish a culture of trust and respect among staff and students, promoting ongoing improvement and collaboration. Collect and analyze district data to inform therapy and teaching practices, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all aspects of your work.

Supervise students during recess, in hallways, and at lunch, while maintaining a professional demeanor. Participate in teacher meetings and in-services, completing required continuing education training. Other duties may be assigned by the Building Administrator, Superintendent, or Board of Education.

Qualifications include a Type 10 Special Teaching grade K-12 Teaching License with an endorsement in Speech/Language Pathology, as well as proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and Google Drive. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
