The Echocardiograph Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of Echo procedures under the supervision of an experienced or lead Echo Technologist. This role requires strong communication skills and technical knowledge to provide quality care and exams for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex Echo procedures, including m-modes, 2-D echocardiograms, color flow doppler, pulse wave doppler, continuous wave doppler, pedoff doppler, transesophageal echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and co-workers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of technical information, history, and test results.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cardiac ultrasound theories, practices, and procedures.
- Currently enrolled in an Allied Health field and in process of completing clinical rotations in ultrasound technology.
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card required.
- Registered in the field of Cardiac Ultrasound either through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with the credential of Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with the credential of Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) upon completion of Allied Health program and required clinical hours is preferred.
