Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Symbria's Great Lakes South location in Sharpsburg, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmacy services that ensure patient safety and effectiveness of therapy, adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Interpret and assess new and refill order requests accurately to ensure appropriate therapy and maintain patient safety.
  • Clarify inappropriate physician orders when necessary and transcribe telephone orders accurately and review for appropriate therapy.
  • Prepare and complete all necessary documentation required on orders, prescriptions, controlled substance records, and general workflow.
  • Monitor and recommend therapy adjustments based on patient status, lab work, and culture results.
  • Provide drug information to physicians, nursing staff, and the public, including drug selection, dosage, and proper administration.
  • Counsel patients and review medications using audio/visual technology for tele-pharmacy.
  • Maintain established goals for initial and final review productivity levels, which meets operational needs and ensures deliveries leave as scheduled.
  • Model a supervisory role, assuming responsibilities including assigning, directing, and supervising pharmacy staff and workflow to achieve and maintain consistent and efficient processing and delivery of all prescription orders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a NABP-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Valid state-registered pharmacist license.
  • General computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exercise professional phone, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain organization, prioritize, and multi-task.
  • Exhibit initiative and reliability.
  • Must be able to work holidays and alternate shifts for PTO/staffing coverages as 24/7/365 operational needs dictate.
