Your role will be crucial in ensuring the dependability of aviation repair and maintenance through effective training and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and control programs for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines and associated fixtures.
- Prepare setup and operating instructions for machines and processes.
- Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures based on sketches, requirements, or drawings.
- Provide support, training, and troubleshooting assistance to personnel operating CNC machines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on component repairs, inspections, and the introduction of new repair processes.
- Monitor machine performance, conduct feasibility studies, and implement process enhancements for CNC operations.
- Prepare technical specifications and cost-benefit analyses for capital equipment procurement.
- Engage with management during the procurement process.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and promptly report any unsafe practices or conditions.
- Execute special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to comprehend, utilize, and convey specialized information both verbally and in writing. This expertise is often formalized through recognized certifications, diplomas, or licenses. A thorough understanding of repair design, development engineering, manufacturing processes, tool design, and fabrication methods is essential.
Additional qualifications include:
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems; experience with Master-CAM is advantageous.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Haas controls, with the capability to program directly at the machine when necessary.
- Prior experience as a machinist or toolmaker is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is beneficial.
- A college diploma in manufacturing technology or a related field is a plus.
- Must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations.
