As a key member of our interdisciplinary team at the University of Maryland Medical System, the Social Services Specialist III provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families in need. This role requires a strong foundation in social work principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced social work services to patients and their families, including assessment, counseling, and advocacy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive, integrated care across the continuum.
- Act as a resource to junior social workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and respect.
- Ensure continuity of care by coordinating with community resources and services.
- Maryland state Social Work licensure and credentials as a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C) are required.
- Two years of applicable experience in a Behavioral Health setting are preferred.
- Three years of applicable social work experience are required.
