Job SummaryThe Patient Flow Coordinator RN plays a critical role in facilitating the admission transfer and bed planning process for patients within the WakeMed System. This position requires collaboration with providers, emergency department staff, and nursing leaders to ensure appropriate patient flow and bed planning throughout the system.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in arranging transfers of patients into the WakeMed system and ensure a transfer plan for the appropriate bed type level of care and status is made for all unscheduled admissions.
- Collaborate with providers, emergency department staff, and nursing leaders to ensure appropriate patient flow and bed planning throughout the system.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and third-party utilization management regulatory requirements.
- 5 years of nursing experience in acute care required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
- Registered nurse licensure required.
- National certification in nursing required within 1 year of hire.
Night shifts, every other weekend, and call requirements apply.
