Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct physical therapy sessions according to the physical therapy plan of care, providing quality rehabilitative care to patients as outlined in the treatment plan.
  • Complete all required documentation according to regulatory agency and departmental standards, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Notify the supervising physical therapist of patient progress and suggest changes in the plan of care when indicated.
  • Assist in discharge planning by ensuring patients have the necessary equipment at home and family members are aware of a home exercise program.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Georgia.
  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • At least one year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, or new graduates from an accredited program will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred licensure or certifications in physical therapy or related fields.
  • Preferred educational background in physical therapy or related fields.
  • Preferred experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in physical therapy or rehabilitation.

HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act)

If, in the normal course of my duties and responsibilities, I am required to access protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI) for the purposes of treatment, payment, and operations within Northeast Georgia Health System, I will limit such access to only the minimum necessary amount of PHI and EPHI necessary to perform the functions of my job.
