Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Ascend Recruiting Partners. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electronic and electromechanical equipment, as well as providing technical support to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in identifying and repairing equipment-related process problems.
  • Perform onsite preventative maintenance, clean equipment as required, and verify the operational quality of equipment.
  • Perform start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities.
  • Utilize training skills to troubleshoot tools to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Keep equipment running properly and efficiently to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend appropriate action and maintain ongoing awareness of existing and potential situations.
  • Handle equipment and customer situations while informing Management of developments on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and conduct local customer meetings and communicate orally with customers in face-to-face, one-on-one settings, and group settings.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and services.
  • Maintain and perform repairs on company demo cleanroom equipment.
  • Keep informed and trained on the company's most current systems, methods, and procedures, including site safety.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field OR 4+ years of experience installing/repairing semiconductor/electronic production equipment or any of the combined.
  • Advanced electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience diagnosing sources of hardware or process problems on equipment, facilities, or wafers.
  • Hands-on skills and knowledge in mechanics and electronics.
  • Ability to use hand tools, and meters, and read/interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Previous semiconductor experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control & quality improvement process methods and terminology.
  • Proven ability to maintain and perform repairs on company demo cleanroom equipment.
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license and have acceptable driving privileges.
