Job Summary

This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads. The driver will be responsible for driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads against shipping papers, maintaining records of duty status, and performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections. A professional business image must be presented to the public and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport cylinders to internal and external customers in a timely and safety-conscious manner.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle, maintaining it in a clean and proper condition.
  • Legibly complete driver log/trip reports on a daily basis.
  • Accurately record cylinders/hard-goods transactions on customer delivery tickets and trip reports.
  • Maintain good communication with supervisor and management, especially regarding safety and customer matters.
  • Operate a forklift truck as required for loading and unloading of product.
  • Set a good example for employees by observing the company's loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, including near misses, unsafe acts, or conditions, and obey safety rules.
Requirements
  • Valid commercial Class B Drivers' License, Hazmat, and Air Brake Endorsements.
  • Medical card.
  • Class A Drivers' License and Tanker Endorsements preferred.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include frequent lifting, carrying, and transporting of cylinders, as well as prolonged periods of sitting and driving. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations is essential.
