About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Specialist to join our team at Methodist Health System. As a Cleaning Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and service assigned areas of the facility, including patient rooms, operating rooms, recovery rooms, public areas, and office spaces.
  • Maintain and operate equipment safely, such as carts, buckets, vacuums, buffers, and extractors.
  • Mix and use chemicals and products according to manufacturer's directions and department procedures.
  • Sort and place clean linen into appropriate shelves and exchange carts.
  • Stock linen supply to patient care areas and respond to requests for additional linens.
  • Perform daily cleaning of the linen storage and distribution area.
  • Report any problems, deficiencies, or incomplete linen tasks to team leader or next shift.
  • Complete verbal or written work assignments and submit to supervisor in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adhere to Safety and Infection Control guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Participate in mandatory in-services and/or continuing education programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • 6 months previous cleaning experience preferred, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers.
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions.
Physical Demands
  • Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
